Green Building is Responsible Construction
Green buildings are responsible and far more cost effective than standard buildings. Building green pays attention to materials used, waste generated, and how the construction process affects the environment. Priority Builders, Inc. (PBI) uses high performance engineered wood products and FSC certified materials whenever possible to construct our buildings. Engineered Wood Products are not only more durable, and more attractive than conventional wood products, but require fewer natural resources to produce. The result is a building that stays looking “turn key” fresh, and requires less from the world to create. FSC certified materials come from third party audited sustainable forests, and have a documented chain of custody. FSC certified products in our opinion are the most environmentally responsible products available on the market today. In addition to using responsible products, we are vigilant in recycling as much of our construction debris as possible, greatly reducing the amount of material that ends up in our landfills. Here at PBI, we truely "think green".
Building Green Saves You Money
Green buildings perform at a higher level than conventional buildings. Because of their design green buildings provide a higher level of comfort than traditional homes, and require less energy and money to do so. This isn’t just about solar panels. Green buildings powered by regular utilities perform better. PBI buildings are insulated and sealed at a level that exceeds requirements. We start making sure that the buildings frame is sealed for air leakage before the structure is insulated. From there we install a superior grade of non toxic insulation. The sealing and insulation are inspected for conformity to our quality standards. Because of the extra amount of care given to this process, keeping the building comfortable is easier, and requires less energy and money than a traditionally constructed home. Healthier Living Through Green ConstructionGreen buildings create a healthier environment in which to live. Conventional construction practices utilize materials that can contain large amounts of materials that are toxic to humans and pets. The toxic materials are released in the form of gasses and particulates. This process of off gassing can last for years. Some of the traditional products that can produce these harmful materials are adhesives and sealants, paint, insulation, drywall, finished or milled wood products, tile mortar, carpet, and solid surface floor coverings. Fortunately there are alternative products available that perform equally or better, and do not produce toxic gasses. PBI is careful in reviewing and selecting which products are used to build and finish your home.

We make sure to reduce or eliminate the use and installation of products that produce off gassing in the home. Particulate matter is created both during construction and during the homes occupancy. We pay particular attention to the cleanliness of the job-site, and dramatically reduce the amount of particulate that is transferred to the home at the end of construction. To reduce or eliminate the collection of particulate matter once the home is occupied, we offer a number of filtration and ventilation options that are superior in performance and efficiency when compared to standard HVAC installations. At PBI homeowner comfort and health is paramount on our list of priorities.
