Conventional Construction & Remodeling |
Conventional Construction Work
If for some reason you’re set on conventional construction, no one does conventional construction better than PBI. After all, to us green building starts with raising the bar, and doing conventional construction better. Our tolerances are higher, and we are careful to select conventional products that perform better and are generally safer.
- We keep a cleaner, better managed job-site, minimizing waste, and maximizing recycling.
- We store in inventory back up equipment and commonly used materials on your site to assure that delays are kept to a minimum.
All projects, whether traditional or green are held to our standards of quality, integrity, and performance, and are subject to the same level of scrutiny.
Levels of Green In Everything We Do
Building Green is not an all or nothing process. There are many “levels” of green, and they should be tailored to your needs, wants, and budget. Building green can also be a process. It is possible to start with the basics of green and to add and adjust additional green features later.
The most important thing to remember is to build green on items of construction that may not easily be changed later. For example, you may choose to start by using engineered materials and composite decking for the exterior of the home. These are items that are not easily replaced. Use no formaldehyde high performance insulation and drywall, again not easily replaced. Then use as many interior green finish products as is comfortable for you and your particular project. If you decide later to upgrade, it’s not too big a project to handle.

Preparing To Build
It’s important to remember that moving forward slowly is better than not moving at all. PBI is happy to help you create a comprehensive plan with not only the current state of the project in mind, but also the future end result.
We can start your project at whatever level of green fits your needs and help you build a road-map for the future.
